Who We Are:
We are Robert Weston Gilliard and Melissa Epps Vaughn.
While years of experience and education play a role, our
successes are a result of who we are: Two
photographers and go-getters that are not afraid of hard
work and will do what it takes to get the photo you
want!
What We
Offer:
The Brain & Heart: Melissa brings years of
organizational skill, photography education and camera
knowledge to every project at Eppicmoments. Melissa is
the crucial part of this business as she balances
working with "the artist" and turning clients into
life-long friendships.
The Artist: With a degree in marketing and over
15 years
experience in graphic design, art, digital enhancing,
and advertising; Robert takes an already stunning photo
and turns it into a piece of art. The same kind of work
reserved for million-dollar campaigns and fashion
magazines...he can bring to your home!
Where We
Came From:
In 2001, a preacher's daughter from Cincinnati loaded up
her car and told her parents she was moving to Florida
on what seemed like a whim. She quickly found a home
church and began serving and working in the community of
Pensacola. Around this time, she bought a used
film camera and quickly fell in love with the way her
photos filled people's lives with joy and
memories. That passion drove her to take classes,
courses and pursue everything she could find on
photography.
Meanwhile, two towns over, was hard working young man
finishing up his degree in Marketing. He was born to
local portrait painter, Caron Gilliard (you can see her
work in the Santa Rosa County Offices). She began
teaching him art as soon as he could hold a pencil.
Robert took the knowledge given to him by his mother and
adapted it to the new digital age.
These two worlds collided when they became friends at
church. Rob, a full-time marketer/musician met Melissa,
a ministry leader/photographer. When they saw each
other's work, they began teaching one another their side
of the trade. Before either one of them knew it, they
were producing art and being begged to photograph
weddings.
The event that transformed Eppicmoments from a
local treasure into a national business was when they
received the call from the wedding planner of Picabo
Street (8-time Olympic Gold Medalist). She had
personally come across the work of Eppicmoments and
wanted them alone to cover her wedding.
From that point on, it's been a wonderful blur of
excitement as these two follow their passion for
photography and bring it to people all over the country.
As business grew, so did their need for a business home.
Now, Eppicmoments resides in East Milton--the same town
both of them live in. Melissa lives with her husband
Rusty (AKA "Handsome") in East Milton; and Rob
lives with his dog, Cheyenne, in Bagdad.
